Real Faith or Mental Assent

Mental assent is believing something or in something without putting any action to it. Faith without works is dead. People can easily agree with anything but if they do not put any action to them, they are decieving themselves. For example, healing can be blocked by mental assent. Christians can know or read God’s healing promises; but if they fail to act on them, it will cause them to accept what they feel (mental assent) and result in staying sick. You could say that it is a “blessing blocker”. Healing has already been provided just like salvation. Healing is recieved just like you recieve salvation by confessing with your mouth and believing in your heart regardless of the current circumstances; that is faith in action. What a difference when we begin to act on God’s word in faith instead of accepting what religion has convinced so many. Mental assent is ignorant hypocrisy; it is an enemy of real bible faith.

Hope has been a big focus for a very long time now, wouldn’t you agree? I thought so. Our country is desperate for hope however, the motives in getting that hope have been out of balance; way out of balance. The world in all it’s ignorance looks to it’s government and people to give them hope. I want to begin by letting you know that change cannot happen for the good in our lives unless we first and foremost turn to the very One that offers The Hope that never fails. This is the hope from which the very principles our founding fathers used to build this country. Our country was founded on principles that have always existed; principles that work for us not against us. I choose the principles that have always looked out for our best interests…no matter what the situation. These principles will work for us no matter what the calendar says and no matter who is in office. Who do you put your hope in? Will you stand on a solid foundation so when storms come you are not moved? When you are standing you will be able to reach out and help pick up those that are not.
